December Transit Strike Update (9)

THIS POST IS A REPUBLISHED VERSION OF AN EMAIL COMMUNICATION SENT BY AUP Vice President for Security, Operations and Student Services Marc Montheard TO STUDENTS ON December 10, 2019, ABOUT THE TRANSIT STRIKE IN PARIS. IT IS PART OF OUR SAFETY & SECURITY BLOG THAT ROUNDS UP ALL THE LATEST NEWS AND UPDATES FOR OUR COMMUNITY.

Tomorrow might be an important day as the French Prime Minister will officially present the retirement plan that the government will be giving to Parliament for approval.

At least two of the main unions have already announced that they will continue the strike but, based on the concessions the government will (or will not) include in its final proposal, some of the most moderate unions might decide to call their members to resume work which would be a game changer as it could restore traffic on all/most metro lines, but probably not to 100%.

This being said, tomorrow will not be affected by this potential improvement and will as difficult as today. Once again, be ready to walk to campus (there should be no rain at least) and allow more time for your commute.

As usual, I am giving you a global picture for all metro, RER, Tram and bus lines (see below):
