The Office of Institutional Research, Assessment, and Effectiveness (IRAE) reports to the Provost. It is led by the Dean of IRAE. The Dean also monitors the institution’s compliance with relevant accreditation and governmental bodies (MSCHE, Delaware DoE, French Rectorat, etc.) and chairs the Steering Committee of Institutional Effectiveness.
The IRAE office supports faculty, students, and staff by providing guidance for assessing student learning and institutional effectiveness. The office reports University data to external bodies as part of necessary compliance practices.
Our goals are to:
- Ensure that the assessment process, including student learning and institutional effectiveness, is carefully planned, sustained, exhaustive, evidence-based, useful, cost-effective and reasonably accurate and truthful.
- Provide appropriate decision-making tools for curriculum development, faculty development and academic processes by ensuring that assessment is seamlessly integrated in all university processes.
- Ensure wide participation in, and understanding of, assessment processes by communicating assessment procedures and results effectively.
- Ensure the University’s continuous accreditation with MSCHE and the DDoE by ensuring all reporting and filing deadlines are met and that all University processes, programs, and activities meet MSCHE and DDoE requirements and standards.
