Summer Activities, Excursions, and Trips

Summer Trips in June and July

During your time at AUP Summer School, we encourage you to explore and immerse yourself in French culture and tradition. You are welcome to plan your own trips, but at AUP you also have the option to explore Paris and France with the Cultural Program Office, who organize cultural excursions and activities in the city, or day or weekend trips to other French regions. The Cultural Program Office offers summer students the opportunity to take part in the ‘Discover Paris’ series and/or the ‘Explore France’ series during their time at AUP Summer School.

Before registering for an activity, excursion, or trip, please read the registration, payment, cancellation, and refund policies below - please note that by registering for a trip/excursion/activity, you agree to all the outlined policies and conditions below.

The ‘Discover Paris’ series

Experience Paris like a local or explore some of the city’s hidden gems with the ‘Discover Paris’ series! In past summers, students marveled at the Paris ballet or opera, treated their taste buds while discovering the city’s vibrant and gourmet food scene, and discovered remnants of medieval Paris and the meandering cobbled streets of Montmartre on bespoke walking tours.

The ‘Explore France’ series

At AUP Summer School, you can discover Paris during your stay, but it’s also worth exploring some of France’s other cities, towns, and regions. Make the most of your time with us and sign up for the Cultural Program Office’s trips to some of France’s famed regions. In summers gone by, students have enjoyed visiting Reims, a city famed for its Champagne houses, picturesque vineyards, and UNESCO World Heritage Sites; Giverny, the village home to Monet’s gardens that inspired some of his most famous impressionist works; and Chantilly, where students feasted their eyes on the majestic Château de Chantilly, enjoyed a veritable feast there with a regal lunch inside the castle walls, and even made their own Chantilly cream in a cooking workshop! 

Registration and policies

How do I register for summer trips and/or activities/excursions?  

  1. Before registering for any Cultural Program activity, excursion, or trip, please read the registration, payment, refund, and cancellation policies below. By registering for a Cultural Program activity/excursion/trip, you are agreeing with agree to all the policies stated below.
  2. Check out the summer activities/excursions and/or trips on  AUP Engage and decide the trips/activities/excursions for which you would like to register.
  3. To register, the student must pay the full amount on the corresponding  payment page.
  4. Once you have made the full payment, your registration is confirmed; you will also receive a payment receipt to your AUP email.

 

Registration Policy  

Please keep in mind that by registering for a Cultural Program activity/excursion/trip, you agree to the registration, payment, cancellation, and refund policies stated on this page. Each student is responsible for making sure that they can go on the trip —no exceptions are made for cancellations related to missing classes or conflicting schedules.  Space on an activity or excursion is reserved upon registration for the event. Activities/excursions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

  

Payment policy  

Excursion, activity, and trip payments can be made online via https://my.aup.edu/payment. To sign up for cultural excursions/trips/activities, students must pay the full price online. Once the payment is complete, cancellations or refunds are possible according to the Cultural Program Office’s policy below. A student may resell their ticket/seat/spot to someone else with the assistance of the Cultural Program Office, but the transaction is solely the student’s responsibility.

  

Cancellation and refund policy

If you need to cancel your registration for a Cultural Program activity/excursion/trip, you must send your request for cancellation by email to the culturalprogramataup.edu (Cultural)culturalprogramataup.edu ( Program Office).

Refunds are based on the date when the Cultural Program Office receives the email request according to the schedule below:  

  • 100 percent — more than 45 days prior to the departure date of event.  
  • 50 percent — from 44 days to 30 days prior.  
  •  No refund less than 30 days before the activity, trip, or excursion.  

Excursion and trip payments can be made online via https://my.aup.edu/payment. To sign up for cultural excursions, students must pay the full activity price online. Once the payment is complete, cancelations or refunds are possible according to the Cultural Program policy below. A student may resell their ticket or seat to someone else with the assistance of the Cultural Program Office, but the transaction is solely the student’s responsibility.

FAQs

The cultural activity I want to attend is full. Does this mean I can’t register?

If an activity is listed as full, it means there are no more spots at the moment. However, if you’re really interested, please contact the Cultural Program Office at culturalprogramataup.edu — sometimes places open up when students cancel.

Is there a limit to how many activities/trips/excursions I can register for?

No. You can sign up for as many activities/trips/excursions as you like! 

When is the last day to cancel a summer cultural activity without paying the cancellation fee?

If you cancel your registration more than 45 days prior to the departure date of the activity/trip/excursion, you will be able to get a 100% refund. Canceling after this period will result in cancellation fees. Please check the Cultural Program summer cancellation policy for more information.

Can I register for a Cultural Program activity, excursion, or trip, but pay for it later?

No. In order to register for a summer cultural activity/excursion/trip, students must pay the full trip/excursion/activity price online. Your spot is not confirmed until your full payment is made.

What happens after I pay for a summer cultural activity/trip/excursion?

Once you pay for a summer cultural activity/trip/excursion, you will receive an automatic payment receipt which confirms your payment and registration for the activity. The Cultural Program Office will reach out to you directly at your AUP email address one week before the activity/trip/excursion with more information about it. You can connect with the Cultural Program Team during your summer orientation day too, and anytime via email at culturalprogramataup.edu.">culturalprogramataup.edu.

What happens if a summer cultural activity/trip/excursion is cancelled?

If an activity/trip/excursion gets cancelled, students will be informed by email and will receive a full refund. Please note that a refund can take a few days to be processed and returned to your account.

What if I have a class during a summer cultural program activity/trip/excursion?

Students cannot be excused from class for a summer cultural program, so it is important that students check their class schedules before registering for a cultural program activity/trip/excursion.
