Wellness is not a luxury; it’s a priority, without which, none of the other things in life run as smoothly as they should.

Did you know that we have a dedicated space for wellness on campus? It’s a space for you to find resilience through yoga and meditation, strengthen stress-busting skills through mindfulness, take part in body awareness, develop your motivation and feelings of being focused through small lifestyle changes, and take a moment for rest and relaxation.

Above all, this is a place of peace, to disconnect from the stress of daily life. We schedule weekly and pop-up events throughout each academic term. Consult our schedule and check for events on the Engage website. You can find the AUP Wellness Room in GL-23, 147 rue de Grenelle. We welcome you to take part in any event or just come in to unwind.

Additionally, here are two quick exercises that can help you relieve stress and tension:

Muscle relaxation

Take note of your muscles throughout your body and of the possible tensions present. Contract successively the muscles of your legs and arms, of your torso and finally of your face. Each time, alternate between a phase of contraction from 3 to 5 seconds and relaxation from 15 to 20 seconds.

Breathing exercise

3 times a day, during 5 minutes, breathe in during 5 seconds and breathe out during 5 seconds. You can use a timer to indicate when the 5 minutes are up, and help you by counting in your head to keep track of the seconds (“I breathe in: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5”; “I breathe out: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5”)
