Service Organizations

AUP Student Organizations provide meaningful services to our campus, working with various units to institutionalize, positive changes on our campus. Examples of active service organizations and their advisors include:

  • AUP for Consent, advised by the Counseling Office
  • Black & Abroad, working with the Diversity Council
  • Gender & Sexuality Club, working with the Health Office
  • The SGA Environmental & Service Committee, whose chairs serve on the President’s Advisory Board on Environmental Sustainability.

THE SGA ENVIRONMENTAL & COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMITTEE (ECS)

The Student Government Association has a committee dedicated to helping service organizations. For example, other groups exist to support environmental sustainability, such as AUP Green and the Vegan Club. A full list of active service organizations can be found on AUP Engage.

The ECS provides resources and attempts to centralize large service initiatives that involve multiple student clubs, such as AUP Gives Back Week and sustainability efforts.

All service organizations looking for support and students interested in community service can start by getting in touch with the ECS.

LOCAL PARTNERSHIPS

Student service goes beyond campus and into the larger Paris community. Below are some examples of long-standing student organizations and partnerships with local organizations in Paris.

  • Baytna à Vous. Working with Souria Houria, this group hosts Syrian refugee families on campus and organizes activities for the children, as well as language exchange online in the 2020-2021 academic year.
  • Campus Unicef. This group works directly with Unicef, supporting its numerous causes through education, advocacy and fundraising on campus.
  • Mon-A. Mon-A organizes art activities for children at local hospitals.
  • Student Government U.S. voting assistance. Student Government partners with Vote from Abroad during election season to help students
  • Serve the City & The American Church in Paris. ACP is AUP’s oldest partner, where our first classes took place. We continue to collaborate on various service initiatives, from fundraisers at Thanksgiving to having students intern and volunteer with common projects such as Serve the City Paris.
