Accessibility at AUP

At AUP, we are committed to creating an environment of inclusion and are proud of our community made up of students, faculty and staff from myriad backgrounds and with different experiences, identities and abilities. We do our best to help all students make the most of their time here and offer support and assistance to facilitate access to academics and student life.

This section provides information, services, procedures and resources for students, staff, faculty and visitors.

Who we support

We support all AUP students providing services and accommodations when possible for health conditions, learning difficulties, disabilities and some temporary injuries.

What support is available?

While we unfortunately can’t always offer the same level of support typically available at universities in the USA, we do our best to provide a range of campus services and academic support.

For learning disabilities and academic accommodations, learn more on this page.

For physical disabilities, please reach out to the kforeataup.edu (Dean of Student Development) to:

  • Discuss your experiences and expectations;
  • Review evidence of your disability;
  • Consider your study plans.

Information on this website is just a guide.

Support can take the form of:

  • Human support (tutoring, mentoring, advising, counseling);
  • IT equipment and study technology;
  • Examination and assessment accommodations;
  • Adjusted schedules for travel between classes;
  • Advice on accessibility in Paris;
  • Assistance in finding housing that meets your needs;
  • Support in navigating French health care.

There may be other solutions available depending on your specific circumstances.

If you are a current student

If you have a health condition, a learning difficulty or concerns about your well-being and academics, you can contact our Student Guidance Counselors who will be very happy to meet with you in a comfortable, confidential space (counselingataup.edu).

Is there an accessible accommodation offered through AUP housing for my first year?

Yes, we do have accessible studios and apartments in our AUP residences, and can work with our partner residences to secure accessible housing for students who need it. If you need specific accommodations due to accessibility considerations, please reach out in advance to housingataup.edu and we will ensure that you get priority to housing options that will best serve your needs during the housing assignment process.
