Back by popular demand, The National’s Bryce Dessner returns to the Mona Bismarck American Center on May 22, this time accompanied by Sō Percussion. Praised by The New York Times for their “mix of consummate skill and quirky charm, this quartet has helped to ignite an explosive new enthusiasm for percussion music old and new,” with collaborations featuring the Kronos Quartet, Steve Reich and Dave Douglas. Inspired by the blues, Baroque, late Romantic and American minimalist traditions, Bryce Dessner’s classical compositions for percussion are sure to bring down the house. The performance will be followed by a reception in the private garden.
