Wednesday, January 30
 

4:30 PM – 6:00 PM Reunion cocktail at the home of AUP President Celeste Schenck

AUP President Celeste Schenck will warmly welcome members of the Founding Classes to her home to launch the reunion by raising a glass to the rich history of the University.

* Transportation from the President’s home to the Gala will be provided.

 

6:30 PM – 8:30 PM World in 2019 Gala (Hosted by Student Government)

AUP Student Government is proud to host its first World in 2019 Gala. Members of AUP’s Founding Classes are encouraged to attend and to share their insights on their industries to students preparing for their future careers.

Professor Waddick Doyle, the founder of AUP’s MA in Global Communications, will discuss career opportunities in communications and journalism.

Antonin Wateau, a graduate from Ferrandi here in Paris – one of the world’s most renowned culinary schools – has created a special menu for the Gala.

We would be delighted to have you attend. No speeches or formal presentations are necessary, just your insight and enthusiasm.

 

Thursday, January 31

9:00 AM – 10:00 AM Tour of 69 Quai d'Orsay Building and Dedication of the Founding Classes Classroom

A sneak preview (construction is ongoing) of AUP’s new Student Learning Center and a special moment to honor the legacy of Lloyd and Marie DeLamater and those who supported the founding of ACP. We will cut the ribbon and dedicate the Founding Classes Classroom on the 7th floor. Special thanks to those of you who have already supported this beautiful classroom – we hope others will be inspired to follow your example.

10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Breakfast with Reverend Dr Scott Herr

Warm up after the sneak preview of the Student Learning Center over a casual breakfast with Reverend Dr Scott Herr, Senior Pastor of the American Church in Paris and an AUP parent, who will answer questions about the American Church today and the close relationship that continues with the University.

11:00 AM – 12:00 PM Campus tours with current students

Join student tour guides as they lead alumni and guests around AUP’s modern campus in the 7th arrondissement. Witness first-hand the advancements made since AUP’s founding in 1962.

12:00 PM – 2:00 PM Lunch at Le Clos des Gourmets

Reacquaint yourself with delicious French cuisine at a renowned neighborhood establishment.

2:30 PM – 3:30 PM ACP to AUP: New Directions Panel

Participate in a discussion with alumni and faculty on the evolution of our campus and presence in Paris since the University was founded in 1962. This panel will include members of the Founding Classes as well as those who followed their path, reflecting on ACP, its journey to the AUP of today, and aspirations for the AUP of tomorrow.

4:30 PM – 9:30 PM Cultural Experience: Visit to and Dinner at The Musée d'Orsay with Professor Jonathan Shimony

Enjoy a visit and dinner at the Musée d’Orsay with Professor Jonathan Shimony. Professor Shimony will take you through the museum to examine seminal works in the collection that illustrate how artists in 19th-century France gradually emancipated themselves from the conventions of “Le Salon” to free both subject matter and technique for the modernists of the 20th century.

Friday, February 1

8:30 AM – 9:45 AM Coffee Tasting with Lacy Audry G’13

Join alumna Lacy Audry as she shares her expertise on Paris’ coffee revolution. Lacy is a coffee aficionado and professional roaster. She will stimulate your coffee palate with offerings roasted in this incredible space. The Belleville Brûlerie in the 19ème is revered by coffee lovers in Paris, and is a primary provider of coffee to cafes all over the city.

10:35 AM – 11:55 AM Attend a class at AUP

12:00 PM – 2:00 PM Reunion lunch in the Amex Café with AUP Trustees

Join this special lunch to honor the Founding Classes with AUP Trustees. Here you can get to know those who are currently leading the University’s advancement and those who will carry it on in the future.

2:30 PM – 4:30 PM Cultural tour with AUP Professor Emerita Kathleen Chevalier

Veteran AUP Professor Emerita Kathleen Chevalier (Art History & Fine Arts) will lead guests of the Founding Classes through the Louvre from Medieval to Modern Times.

* Transportation from AUP to the Louvre will be provided.

 

 

6:30 PM – 9:30 PM Closing Reunion Dinner at P’tit Troquet

To conclude the week’s activities, join fellow members and guests for a delicious dinner at this hidden jewel near the Eiffel Tower: Le P’tit Troquet. This intimate space offers the perfect atmosphere for enjoying a final evening together.
