Action Needed: Mandatory MFA Implementation for VPN Access

Home>IT Services>News>

(For AUP Staff)

Dear Colleagues,

We are implementing a crucial security update to our VPN infrastructure, which will now require all users to authenticate using Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). MFA for VPN does not support the SMS method and requires using the Authenticator app or using the phone call validation.

For Microsoft Authenticator App Users:

If you are already using the Microsoft Authenticator App, the transition will be seamless. The next time you connect to the VPN, you will be prompted to validate your connection through the app.

For SMS Users:

If you currently use SMS for authentication, please switch to either the Microsoft Authenticator App or phone call validation. Detailed instructions on how to change your authentication method are attached to this email. You can only find the information in the FAQ section on the following link:

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) | The American University of Paris (aup.edu)

Important Dates:

The new security settings will take effect on the morning of Wednesday, May 29. If you have not updated your authentication method by then, we will automatically change it to phone call validation to ensure continued access.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the IT support team at itservicesataup.edu

Best regards,
