December Transit Strike Update (5)

IT IS PART OF OUR SAFETY & SECURITY BLOG THAT ROUNDS UP ALL THE LATEST NEWS AND UPDATES FOR OUR COMMUNITY.

We have been monitoring the strike and current demonstrations very closely today. Some confrontations between protestors and police are currently happening and will probably carry on until early in the evening. We encourage you to stay home and away from the demonstrations tonight, notably at Republique and Nation.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, and based on the information that we have for the moment, Friday, December 6, 2019, will be very similar to what we saw today.

 

Metros

  • Lines 2, 3, 3 bis, 5, 6, 7 bis, 8, 10, 11, 12 et 13 will be closed all day
  • Lines 7 and 9 there will be 1 in 4 metros during rush hour (6:30 am to 9:30 am and 5pm to 8 pm)
  • Line 4 there will be 1 in 3 metros during rush hour (6:30 to 9:30 am and 5pm to 8 pm)
  • Lines 1 and 14 will circulate normally

RER

  • RER A there will be 1 in 3 trains during rush hour
  • RER B South to Gare du Nord, there will be 1 in 4 all day
  • RER B North to CDG airport (connexion at Gare du Nord), there will be 1 in 5 all day
  • RER C there will only be trains from Paris Austerlitz to Bretigny (2 per hour)
  • RER D no trains circulating

Buses

One in three buses will be running all day

Tramways

  • One in three tramways during rush hour for lines 1, 2, 3a, 3b, 5
  • One in two all day for lines 6, 7, 8

TGV and Eurostar

  • 10% of TGV’s will circulate, and 1 in 2 Eurostar canceled.
  • You can check if your train has been canceled here 
  • Ask to move the train or be reimbursed here

 Planes

  • Approximately 20% of internal flights canceled and 15% of intra-Europe flights canceled.
  • Long flights are not impacted.
  • You should check with your airline company before you travel if your flight is impacted.
