La Vierge, les Coptes et Moi will be screened in C104 on Wednesday 9 November at 15h30 in the presence of director Namir Abdel Messeeh.
La Vierge, les Coptes et Moi (2011) is a light-hearted comedy about relations between Europe and the Arab world written and directed by Egyptian director Namir Abdel Messeeh. It looks at the position of the Christian minority population in Egypt through an autobiographical lens, and is 'a family trip, a road movie, a documentary, an investigation, a film about film-making, and many other things,' in the words of one critic.
La Vierge, les Coptes et Moi has been shown at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, the Sydney Film Festival In Australia, and various other festivals worldwide.
All members of the AUP community are welcome. Outside guests should send their names to me before Monday 7 November.
