Graduate Château Chambord Trip

Meeting point and return point: 31 Avenue Bosquet, 75007, Paris
Sunday, February 11, 2018 - 08:00 to 19:00

Graduate students are invited to visit the majestic Château de Chambord located in the heart of the stunning Loire Valley. A symbol of renaissance grandeau, the château was constructed in the 16th Century under the French King François I and features the double helix staircase inspired by Leonardo da Vinci. The King flaunted the remarkable architectural achievement as a symbol of of power to many fellow sovereigns and ambassadors. The surrounding gardens were later added in the 17th Century by the Sun King, Louis XIV.

To keep costs to a minimum, lunch is not included in this event. Graduates are welcome to bring their own lunch to enjoy in the château jardins, or visit the Café d’Orléans restaurant on site.

In the afternoon, students will enjoy a wine dégustation (tasting) at the nearby organic vineyard, Terra Laura Domaine de Montcy before heading back by to Paris.

The morning meeting point and the return point is 31 Avenue Bosquet, 75007, Paris. We will be travelling by bus.

Please arrive at 7:50 am for a prompt departure.

The trip is open to all current graduate students at a subsidized cost of 40€ per head by the Graduate Student Council.

If there are seats available at the end of the sign up period, students may email to request to invite partners.
