ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD - LE MARAIS
Throughout its long history, the Marais has been home to successive waves of aristocrats, immigrants, artists, and hipsters. The northern section of this quarter is now exploding with art galleries, independent fashion boutiques, and cool new eateries.
ABOUT THIS TOUR
This tour varies by day and what’s open, but we’ll often taste buttery croissants and crisp baguettes from an award-winning baker, then visit one of the best chocolate shops in Paris (and therefore the world). We’ll sample luxurious ganaches (bonbons) and other unforgettable creations in a stunning space that looks like a high-end jewelry shop. We’ll visit a family-run fromagerie where they carefully age cheese in their cellars that run below the shop and below the city’s oldest covered market (next door). We’ll visit our favorite traiteur and charcuterie shop in the city to sample stunning terrines and other cured meat delicacies. We’ll conclude with a seated tasting inside a cave à vins to taste and learn about our savory treats while sampling different French wines.
