Dirk Hoyer

Dirk Hoyer is Associate Professor at Tallinn University and Senior Lecturer at the American University of Paris. Hoyer has published numerous academic articles, book chapters and two books: (Ap)art (Helsinki: Aalto University Press, 2015) and Retopia-Creating New Spaces of Possibility (London: Routledge, 2023). He has written and directed two fiction films and three documentaries. His latest documentary project Humans Remain is currently in post-production. Hoyer is an award-winning scriptwriter and also conducts research in the field of screenwriting and storytelling. As a story consultant has contributed to more than 40 film projects. Hoyer has given lectures and seminars in many universities across Europe and the United States.
