Rebekah Rast & Steven Ekovich

Cost: €150 (includes round-trip train transportation, on-site transportation, entrance fees, guided visits, professor’s trip costs, and VAT)

The primary purpose of the trip is a visit to the European Parliament in order to learn the history and functions of the parliament, and in particular its role in the foreign and security policy of the European Union as per the politics course taught by Prof. Ekovich. Students will also be exposed to the wealth of languages at the EP, interpreters, and issues related to the multilingual nature of such an institution, all of which are discussed in the linguistics course taught by Prof. Rast. A visit to the city of Strasbourg also provides rich linguistic exposure as both French and Alsatian are spoken.
