The American University of Paris and the President Woodrow Wilson House invite you to attend a panel discussion entitled “Centennial Perspectives on the Treaty of Versailles and the End of WWI,” hosted by the National Trust Historic Site in conjunction with The American University of Paris.
A cocktail reception will follow the panel discussion, and attendees will have the chance to tour the museum for an exclusive after-hours visit of the library, the dining room and the drawing room.
In addition to reflecting on the last 100 years, panelists will share their perspective on prospects for peace in the next 100 years. The discussion will be followed by questions from the audience.
Panelists will include:
- John Milton Cooper, Jr., historian, author, educator and author of Woodrow Wilson: A Biography, a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Biography
- Edwin Fountain, Vice Chair of the United States World War I Centennial Commission
- Robert Litwak, Senior Vice President and Director of International Security Studies at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholar
Author and historian Garrett Peck will introduce the panel.
Rare artifacts from World War l and the Paris Peace conference will be on display, including historic maps from the Conference, the opening-pitch baseball, pitched and signed by King George V in an exhibition army vs. navy baseball game in London during the Great War, and the pen set used by Woodrow Wilson in signing the Declaration of War.
