Quartier Latin Literary Tour

Wednesday, October 21, 2020 - 15:00 to 17:00

Discover the beautiful and fascinating Quartier Latin and see why writers like Hemingway called it home. Visit the French philosophers memorialized in the Panthéon, stroll through beautiful sites like the Luxembourg Gardens, the Cluny Museum, and the fountain outside Paris' Sorbonne University for a great picture. This tour will start at the famous bookstore, Shakespeare and Co., a tribute to the store originally owned by Sylvia Beach and the local hangout for meetings between literary greats like Ernest Hemingway, James Joyce and Ezra Pound. From there, you will walk past places like the oldest cinemas in Paris, Hemingway and Joyce's houses, see film sites from Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris and finish with a drink at Les Deux Magots, a famous café which once had the reputation as the rendezvous spot for many of the city's literary and intellectual élite at the time.
