The American University of Paris welcomes Prof. Robin Celikates, Freie Universität Berlin, for a talk entitled "Remaking the Demos ‘From Below’? Critical Theory, Migrant Struggles, and Epistemic Resistance." This talk is part of the Contemporary European Democratic Theory theme of the DEMOS21 event series organized by the Center for Critical Democracy Studies.

Robin Celikates is Professor of Social Philosophy and Anthropology at Freie Universität Berlin. He is also deputy director of the "Center for Humanities and Social Change” at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Prof. Robin Celikates´s research is mainly in political philosophy, critical theory and social philosophy, and focuses particularly on questions of democracy, migration and citizenship, civil disobedience within democratic systems, the moral philosophy of recognition, and methodologies in political philosophy and social philosophy.
