VIRTUAL EVENT

Zero Conference, Zero Emission Revolution Online

Friday, March 19, 2021 - 16:30 to Saturday, March 20, 2021 - 14:15

The aim of the ZERO conference is for different universities to share knowledge about how to make their campuses greener and more sustainable. We aim to support each other in projects and to learn from each other's achievements and challenges. Although there are many ways we can make a difference, through personal actions or community outreach, at the root of environmental sustainability is education. This conference will focus on what university students can do – in the classroom, through student-run projects, and by sharing resources with the community – to create and encourage more sustainable practices on our campuses and beyond. The American University of Central Asia (UCA) will be discussing the role that environmental education plays on its rural campus located outside of Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Students and professors from AUP’s urban campus will present ongoing plans for student-led projects that are being developed as part of undergraduate and graduate coursework. In addition to UCA and AUP presentations, there will be two guest speakers, Etelle Higonnet (National Wildlife Federation) and Leila Conners (Tree Media).
