Critical Theory 101 Series: Rahel Jaeggi, Progress and Regression

Sciences Po | Salle K.008 | 1 Place Saint Thomas d'Aquin | 75007 Paris
Tuesday, February 4, 2025 - 16:00

The Critical Theory 101 Series Series will host Rahel Jaeggi (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin) for a talk on Progress.

The Critical Theory 101 Series explores how the relational dimensions of care, traditionally centered on dependency and moral responsibility, can deepen our understanding of democratic practices. By examining care as a normative and political framework, the seminars interrogate how care ethics challenges conventional liberal-democratic ideals, reshaping conceptions of citizenship, power, and social cohesion. Speakers include: Sandra Laugier (Université Paris 1, Panthéon-Sorbonne), Patricia Paperman (Paris 8), Carol Gilligan (NYU), Fabienne Brugére (Paris 8), Barbara Formis (Université Paris 1, Panthéon-Sorbonne), Valentina Moro (Stony Brook University), and Zona Zarić (AUP).
