On November 28th, more than 50 AUP students met with Didier Miqueu, a well-known wine estate owner, who is also the founder and director of a Bordeaux-based wine trade, as part of our wine society’s tasting events. Didier came from Bordeaux just for us and introduced us to his own wines – Château Soleil and Château Croix de Rival.
Didier first presented us to a splendid Château Croix du Rival 2013, before having us taste a Château Soleil 2013, which was very aromatic. We then moved on to a superb Rival 2013 – it had a great balance. Moreover, we got to enjoy Soleil 2012 as well as a Rival 2012, characterized by its juicy tannins. Before starting the appetizer, Didier wanted us to capture the main characteristics of slightly older vintages – Soleil 2010 and Rival 2010 – and seize the main differences with some of his property’s more recent wines.
Thank you Didier for taking part in our wine tasting session and having come all the way from Bordeaux along with various of your wonderful wines. And a special thank you to the members of the Wine Society Club, for having done an amazing job in helping us throughout the event.
