Rajasthan is the vast and beautiful part of North West India with desert landscapes, forts and lake cities, a crossroad of religions and traditions. On this trip, visit the World Spirit Musical Festival in Jodhpur for two days and nights of concerts and study the role of music and sound in transcultural identity. Enjoy field visits to cultural heritage sites, and the opportunity to engage with local NGOs, completing short ethnography projects. Students on this trip have the opportunity to visit the NGO Salam Balak that works with street children, Mother Theresa’s home for children and the elderly, a café run by women survivors of acid attacks as well as a weavers cooperative. Visits are also organized to colorful and vibrant bazars, Hindu and Sikh temples, some of the world’s most beautiful mosques, Dehli, the Agra fort and, of course, the Taj Mahal.

Last day to register/cancel: January 24
Late cancelation fee: €1550
Payment for study trips must be made no later than February 1 for the Spring 2016 semester. Any concerns in this regard should be addressed to the Cultural Program & Student Accounting Services.
