Where in the world is wealth concentrated? Do the “1%” richest people in the planet influence national and international politics? How can we understand the refugee crisis in Europe? What provoked the political and economic turmoil in Venezuela? In this section, we map and track power in the world, at a geopolitical, financial and cultural level; we address the social, political and economic crises and conflicts affecting us directly or indirectly.
Do extreme wealth inequalities turn societies into plutocracies? This project investigates how the ultra-rich influence politics. The project, developed by students and Prof. Peter Hägel within the billionaireswatch.org course at AUP, is non-partisan and non-profit.
