Migration conference at Hotel Talleyrand

Friday, May 18, 2018 - 00:00

As the EU at large and individual member states continue to confront the migration crisis, what rights are guaranteed to displaced persons and refugees? Who is most vulnerable? Who decides how a migrant is classified? How far does the moral duty of France extend? What are the appropriate functions of NGOs that assist migrants? What is the current status of the Calais Refugee Camp? What responsibilities (if any) do non-EU nations have with respect to the current crisis? What are the best short and long terms solutions?

AUP graduate students have invited leading academics and professionals to address these questions in the French context at the Hotel Talleyrand on May 18, 2018. As Talleyrand was the ultimate migrant, the setting is unusually appropriate. The symposium is open to the public, but students will be given priority for attendance.
