AUP's Creative Writing program, Center for Writers & Translators, and Civic Media Lab are delighted to invite you to a reading and conversation with American poet Lauren Mullen on the 22 September 2021, at 18:30PM, Quai Combes building, Room Q-801.
Laura Mullen is the author of eight books and the Kenan Chair in the Humanities at Wake Forest University. Recognitions for her poetry include a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and a Rona Jaffe Award. Recent poems have appeared in Together in a Sudden Strangeness, Posit, and Bettering American Poetry. Her translation of Veronique Pittolo's Hero was published by Black Square Editions in 2019. She was an Artist in Residence at the Headlands Center for the Arts in 2021.
Mullen’s work spans genres and is constantly engaging important questions regarding identity, social justice, and history, through an exploration of different forms of commentary (poetic, digital, visual) and creative expression. At AUP, she will discuss Dark Archive, published by University of California Press in 2011 and read newer cross-genre work, followed by a Q&A session.
Registration details will be sent via email to all registrants 24 hours prior to the event.
