About The American University of Paris

For more than 60 years, The American University of Paris (AUP) has empowered students from all over the world to forge their own path. AUP is an independent, US-accredited (Middle States Commission on Higher Education) liberal arts university located in the center of Paris, France. With 28 majors and 39 minors–spanning the humanities, arts, and social and natural sciences–there are a wide range of classes, all taught in English, that have been pre-approved for transfer to George Washington University.

AUP is small yet culturally diverse–with around 1200 students representing more than 100 nationalities. Each student brings their own unique background and perspective to the classroom, creating a learning environment where students can engage with and learn from a variety of worldviews. Through small class sizes; interdisciplinary, hands-on teaching; and close faculty guidance, the intellectual and professional development of each individual student is at the core of AUP’s curriculum.
