Bourg-en-Bresse
AH 490 Women & the French Renaissance
Professor Kathleen Chevalier

Cost: €85 (includes round-trip train transportation, on-site transportation, entrance fees, guided visits, and VAT)

Take an early morning train to Bourg-en-Bresse, a former capital of Savoy where Margaret of Austria built the magnificent royal monastery of Brou in honor of her (third) husband Philibert the Fair. Explore the buildings while admiring both one of the most splendid window cycles of the Renaissance and the extravagant tombs which the politically savvy regent of Flanders designed in order to consolidate Habsburg power and rest for eternity by her husband’s side.

Last day to register/cancel: January 25

Late cancelation fee: €85

Payment for study trips is due as soon as the trip is officially confirmed by email from the CP Coordinator, Alexis Dang.
