VIVRE Performing Arts invites you to attend the 2022 Fall Play entitled ‘Dry Land’ written by Ruby Rae Spiegel.
Following the life of an American high school senior, Dry Land is about Amy, who is desperate to end her unwanted pregnancy, but has no access to an abortion. She enlists the help of Ester, a new student and fellow swimmer on their swim team. The two girls struggle to find a way to end Amy’s pregnancy and find themselves drawn irrevocably closer. The bonds of their friendship prove intense, as both girls struggle how to navigate the challenges, heartbreaks, and discoveries that come of trying to find your way when there is no map back to the safety of dry land.

About the Director:
Marteena Mendelssohn is a Junior Creative Writing major with a minor in Film and Marketing Management. As one of the founding members of VIVRE Performing Arts, she dedicates her time to theater and playwriting. She believes that acting is about understanding oneself enough to react truthfully under any circumstance– and she hopes to stay true to that as she begins to direct other actors on her journey.
