The George and Irina Schaeffer Research Scholarship is a prestigious scholarship awarded by the George and Irina Schaeffer Center for the Study of Genocide, Human Rights and Conflict Prevention at The American University of Paris. This scholarship is awarded annually and designed to support one or two AUP students entering their junior or senior year who demonstrate(s) excellence in scholarship, are in financial need, and interested in pursuing advanced research related to the Center’s mission. Awards are intended to support tuition or other university expenses. Students are expected to continue their scholarship on genocide, mass violence, human rights, and/or the prevention of violence at AUP and to participate in the intellectual life of the Center. Scholarships are typically between 7,500 and 15,000 Euros.

 

Qualifications of Applicants

Applicants must be entering their junior and/or senior year, currently enrolled at The American University of Paris, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, strong academic record and a demonstrated interest in genocide studies or related fields.
