USC: Transfer Options

Welcome to The American University of Paris!

At AUP, you have the opportunity to spend your first year of university studying and living in the heart of Paris, France. Since 2014, USC has worked with AUP to provide a robust transfer option, and we’ve seen more than 700 students successfully transfer to USC for the start of their sophomore year.

Every year, AUP welcomes around 50-100 students who have the intention of transferring to USC. While these students are well integrated into AUP’s first-year community–giving them the opportunity to meet students from all over the world–there are many opportunities for them to meet and connect with other prospective USC students

About The American University of Paris

For more than 60 years, The American University of Paris (AUP) has empowered students from all over the world to forge their own path. AUP is an independent, US-accredited (Middle States Commission on Higher Education) liberal arts university located in the center of Paris, France. With 28 majors and 39 minors–spanning the humanities, arts, and social and natural sciences–there are a wide range of classes, all taught in English, that have been pre-approved for transfer to USC.

AUP is small yet culturally diverse–with around 1200 students representing more than 100 nationalities. Each student brings their own unique background and perspective to the classroom, creating a learning environment where students can engage with and learn from a variety of worldviews. Through small class sizes; interdisciplinary, hands-on teaching; and close faculty guidance, the intellectual and professional development of each individual student is at the core of AUP’s curriculum.
