
William MacKendree was born and educated in his home state of Georgia. After completing his studies in Philosophy and in Fine Arts he moved to Greece to teach at the Aegean Center of Fine Arts and at Anatolia College for 6 years. He then moved to Paris has been an active exhibiting artist in Paris since 1985, as well as engaging as professor of Painting and Studio Practices at Parsons School of Design, Paris; and at The American University in Paris. His exhibitions have included the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, The Museum of Fine Arts in Brest, the Centre d'Art Contemporain in Toulouse, Espal Centre d'Art in Le Mans, as well as galeries in Paris, Lille, Toulouse, Amsterdam, Zurich, Vienna, and Innsbrucke, among others.
